Conference Venue and Check-In – IPS Nairobi

Conference Venue and Check-In

The XXVII International Primatological Society (IPS) Congress will be held on August 19-25, 2018 at the United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON), Kenya.

Participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible in order to avoid congestion before the official opening of the conference on Monday morning. Therefore registration will open at noon on Sunday 19th August. Registration will be located inside the UN compound and close to the main gate on UN Avenue. Since the opening reception on Sunday evening will also take place at the UN compound it is most convenient to register that afternoon. Participants are requested to bring an identification document (e.g. passport, ID, driver’s licence) which should be shown at the registration desk. Once registered, participants will receive a badge that should be worn at all times while on the United Nations site.

Throughout the IPS conference, strict UN security measures are observed. Participant official conference ID is mandatory for admission to UNON as well as to the meeting rooms. Lost IDs should be reported without any delay to the UN Security. Participants will be required to undergo security checks upon entering the UNON premises.

For the convenience and comfort of participants, complimentary transportation will be provided from some designated hotels to and from the conference. Schedules of the shuttle service will be available at the hotels and at the conference venue. Other hotels on the accommodation page have been specifically selected to facilitate the avoidance of congested traffic routes on the way to the conference.

In order to minimize the environmental impact of the meeting and for reasons of economy, participants will be provided with a memory stick containing the programme and other documents. Participants are requested to bring their own hard copies of additional documents if required. Selected pre-session conference documents can be downloaded from the IPS website here.

Wireless internet (WIFI) will be available everywhere on the meeting premises. Participants will be able to do a few photocopies in the logistics room (conference room 6).
